Clare Hughes (née Bennett) is principally concerned with the individual's immersion in online life, where the singular personality can be manipulated to suit societal tropes for good or bad. From a digital after-life to fraudulent personae, as an artist Hughes researches and then inhabits the characters she finds in this online world.
